Mr. Graf has found himself again dealing with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), which is type of cancer. The cancer victim needs life-saving treatment with Bendamustine and Retuximab, which will lead to costs of more than $29,000. Mr. Graf lost his job and his insurance about five months ago, which has left him unable to pay for the treatment. While he has made repeated requests for assistance, he has been denied. Mr. Graf is no stranger to the local community—he has lived in Sierra Vista for more than eight years, and he has been very active in a number of different organizations in the area. He has volunteered for Southwest Wings, Horsin' Around, Friends of the San Pedro River and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
The raffle drawing will be held on May 31, 2013, and tickets cost $100 each. The prizes are as follows:
- 1st place—$3,000
- 2nd place—14-karat gold Italian gold collar necklace (value of $1,200)
- 3rd place—AKC/ASCA Aussie pup or $700
